Tips for container gardening

  • Watering is very important, especially on hot days. Container plants tends to dry out quicker than plants in the ground. Water when the top of the soil feels dry to touch.

  • Deadheading faded flowers not only promote the plants ability to produce more flowers, it also makes the plant looks better. Cut the stem back to the closest leaf node or stem.

  • Fertilizing once a week is important during growing season. For blooms, use a fertilizer which has a high phosphorous number, for example 5-30-5.

pleasure for a year, marriage;
pleasure for a lifetime, a garden.”
